There was a time in history when our lolos worked really hard to earn the company of a certain maiden while our lolas adored her.
And why not? She is stamped on to every peso coin in circulation! Created by engraver and artist Melecio Figueroa, she symbolized industrialization introduced by the Americans. Though no name was given her, let's just call her Industria.
You must beware though, while she holds a leafy branch to her cheeks on one hand she has a hammer on the other.
